Things you can Do
1.  avoid the cabin and other enclosed spaces.  Find a breezy spot in the sun may be preferable. The open air and ability to look out over the horizon are often more important

2.  There will be less motion towards the centre of the boat.

3.  Avoid the upper decks as the higher you go sitting or laying down is the worst thing you can do at this point

4.  If someone in your party is overcome by sea sickness, get away from them at once! we have a sympathetic reaction and succumb as well.

5.  Anxiety can bring on seasickness

6.  Go easy on the dinner the night before and breakfast in the morning before you go out. Don't stuff yourself

(I really like the last sentence- "don't stuff yourself" whoever wrote this has obviously NEVER been on a cruise!!! )
